Help Page
The following page
outlines some common problems visitors have when attempting to view this
website. If you have a particular problem which is not addressed by the
following problems and suggested solutions, please send your questions
to me (See: Submissions).
I can't
see anything on the top of the main page.
Chances are, you do not have Macromedia Flash 6.0
or higher installed.
Go to the Macromedia website and download the plug in. While most
of the site can be reached without the Flash 6.0 plug-in, a lot of the
site cannot be seen fully.

I can see
the Flash movies, but I can't hear anything and they keep crashing my
computer.
You possibly have Macromedia Flash 5.0 or lower installed
instead of Macromedia Flash 6.0 or above. Flash 4.0 and above files which
iSoaker.com uses encode sound using MP3 compression. This can cause some
problems for Flash 3.0 or lower players. Even if you have Flash 5.0 installed,
the newer movies have functions which work only using the Flash 6.0 player.
Your best bet is to install Flash 6.0 or above.
If you do have Flash
6.0 or above installed, either you don't have a sound card, your speakers
are off, or you do not have enough free memory for the Flash 6.0 or above
Player to run smoothly. Try closing other programs and see if this helps
resolve the problem.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Why
iSoaker.com?
iSoaker.com is derived from the obvious short form ("Internet Soaker")
and the more subtle play on words ("I, Soaker") As the iSoaker.com website
covers a lot more ground than simply weapon reviews, the name became more
fitting than the previous name of Aquatechnology. Also, "www.aquatechnology.com"
is already registered under a different company.
How often are
new posting put up?
I try to put up a posting at least once a week during the Spring and Summer
months. (If I don't... oh well.)
How do you navigate
in the site?
The Main Splash Flash movie is divided into three sections: i) the top
title/navigation bar with iSoaker.com's logo on the top/left and the 5
main sections of iSoaker.com as icons on the top/right. As well, the top/right
of the movie area has quick button links to Help (this page), submission
information, and the site index page. Depending on the button clicked,
a sub-menu may be launched in the main body area; ii) the main body area
is where sub-menus and sub-Flash-pages are loaded. Not all of iSoaker.com's
pages are Flash based, but those that are Flash are loaded into the main
Flash movie when requested by the user. The top title/navigation area
should always remain visible despite the presence of a sub-page or sub-menu;
and iii) the bottom navigation area with a pop-up menu in the bottom/left
corner and a few quick-button links beside it. These buttons may also
launch sub-movies or direct the user into another HTML page.
Throughout the rest
of the site, all page contain a Flash header movie. The allows for quick
linking back to the main page and a immediate load of a selected section's
menu. Just beheath the header area is a navigational tree link which shows
the major branch points a particular page is built upon. Going up a level
is as simple as clicking on the link prior to the page's name in the navigational
tree.
I submitted
a review/story/tech development to you. When will it be posted?
Depending on my own schedule, accepted posts typically
go up within a few days. All emails sent to isoaker@isoaker.com will receive
an automated confirmation email to state that the email was received by
the server. If you have not received the automated reply, either the email
was not sent properly, your return email address was not properly specified
in the email sent, or the email was not received by the server properly.
Whether a received email ends up posted on iSoaker.com depends on whether
or not it is deemed acceptable for posting on iSoaker.com. If the email
submission is rejected for posting, I typically respond to the sender
stating why and what needs to be done. However, if a post is found outright
offensive to me, do not expect any form of personal response or acknowledgement.
Why are
you using Macromedia Flash movies on your site? Why not keep it simple
images and text?
In light of the evolving Internet, I have tried to keep the iSoaker.com
site on par with the latest web technologies. Fact is Macromedia Flash
content allows iSoaker.com to incorporate moving pictures, interactive
menus, smoother navigation, and sound without greatly increasing file
sizes. Most Flash movie files are often even smaller than the previous
images they have replaced! Of course, for those who cannot view or have
difficulty viewing the Flash files, I have posted text links to relevant
pages at the bottom of each page.
Are all
sections available for non-Flash enabled browsers?
No sections of iSoaker.com are completely viewable to non-Flash enabled
browsers. Since this site is run by one individual, the non-Flash enabled
browers will be unable to view key features that require Flash has such
as iSoaker Elite, the Flash Blaster movie, etc.
What is in store
for iSoaker.com?
The future will tell...
Where did the
iSoaker.com Image Gallery go?
To reduce server load, the iSoaker.com Image Gallery has been taken offline.
If anyone wants a particular blaster picture for use on their own website,
please send an email picture request to isoaker@isoaker.com.
Are you obsessed
with water weapons?
Yes. And by the fact that you're still reading this, you probably are,
too.
