The Water Hose
Dimensions:
Varies on hose used Classification: N/A | Type: LIMITED RANGE SATURATION DEVICE Description: The hose has always been (and still is in many cases) a water weapon to be reckoned and feared when attempting to stay dry. The hose weapon has many features and advantages over other portable water weaponry, but there are ways to make this weapon even more effective. The hose user actually has many responsibilities. Hoses, when used as a weapon, are most commonly used for base or refilling station protection. However, when not defending against hostiles, the hose is a key tool best used for refilling other, more mobile water weapons. Though this seems obvious, in the heat of a battle, it can at times be more advantageous to use the hose to refill water weapons as opposed to confronting the enemy. Water weapons take only a few moments to fill and will allow now two people to engage the enemy instead of simply the hose user. Despite the feeling of liquidation power one gets while holding a hose, one must remember that only one person at a time can be effectively targetting. Even a hose user can be outgunned by an attacking force of greater numbers. The strength of the hose is also the source of its weakness. For all intents and purposes, the hose is considered having a limitless water supply. However, since the hose must be attached to the faucet or pump to work, the range of motion is limited. When confronting hostiles, it is best to remain close to the water source to prevent it from being disconnected. A fair length of the hose should also be kept slack such that some freedom of motion is offered. Though in most cases the hose can fire farther than any hand-held water weapon, I have seen some water weapons (i.e. the CPS 1000, CPS 2000 and CPS 2500) outrange a hose connected to a relatively low-pressured faucet. A well-thrown water balloon can also easily outdistance the range of a common garden hose. While hoses intimidate most when approaching a hose-defended base, they do have their strengths and weaknesses which can be used to either side's advantage. Hoses do come in handy when refilling and defending but a good water blaster is much more effective for actual raids on enemy positions. Pros: Simple to use. Virtually limitless water supply. Cons: Limited range due to length of hose. Stream size and length dependant on hose attachment used. Hose user is also often the target of any incoming attacks due to the nature of the weapon. Unable to travel beyond the length of the hose. 'Lil
