HUNTERS
& KILLERS
Submitted by Shawn (a.k.a. Spider)
Number of People: Any (at least 4)
Duration: Any length of time available. Can be made short or long depending
on interest.
Area Required: Any location which can afford to get wet but with ample
hiding places
Overview
(adapted from email)
Most would wear
Black BDU's and some sort of tactical vest, for storage of equipment and
smoke bombs. The game is always played at night because at night your
senses play tricks on you and its a heck of a lot more fun to shoot someone
in the dark.
There is a preset
area of engagement, usually a bunch of houses around the neighborhood.
There are two teams: the Hunters and the Killers. The Killers first go
out into the darkness and prepare for their assault on the Hunters (The
name of this game was taken from an old war movie. It said "Those
who hunt have the advantage, but those who kill are the ones who will
survive.") After the preset time has passed, the Hunter team comes
outside and attempts to hunt down the other team. Basically the Hunter
team goes on a patrol of the territory slowly cutting down the area of
movement of the Killer team. Usually the Killer team strikes out of nowhere
leaving chaos in their wake. The game is played where one shot kills,
meaning if one is hit with a stream for only a second then one must place
one's weapon over one's head and yell, "I'm Hit!" before leaving
the field of engagement. The game continues until all Hunters or all Killers
are eliminated.
WATERBALL
Number of People: Any even number (at least 4)
Duration: Any length of time available. Typically a shorter game.
Area Required: Any location which can afford to get wet.
Overview
Unlike soccer
or basketball or even water polo, waterball makes use of water to push
the ball along towards the goal. In water ball, no person is allowed to
come in contact with the ball. The ball used should be something large
and light (i.e. an inflatable beach ball). Like soccer, a goal is scored
when the ball passes between two goal posts. Part of the challenge is
getting the ball going where one wants it using one's water blasters.
One can also blast an opposing team member but this will only distract
and not move the ball towards the goal. A time limit is set for the game
and the winner is determined by the number of goals scored in the allowed
time.
If the ball goes
out-of-bounds, the team that caused the ball to leave the playing field
loses possesion and the opposing team gets first squirt from the point
of exit. If the ball comes into contact with a player, the player hit
must stop squirting for 10-30 seconds (depending on the rules set before
the game) while the other team gets possession of the ball.
THE
PRESIDENT'S MEN
Submitted by Kane
Number of People: Any (at least 5)
Duration: Any length of time available. Typically a shorter game.
Area Required: Any location which can afford to get wet. However, can
be made more interesting if done in an area with a lot of hiding places.
Overview
(adapted from email)
One person is
the President and has no type of water blaster whatsoever. The rest of
the people are either body guards or assassins. The person with no blaster
must be protected by other people that act as the President's guards since
the President has no weapon. His/her bodyguards must protect the President
for a set amount of time or provide protection while the President is
moved from one known location to another. If the President gets shot (this
can vary from the way you play. I play with one hit kills) the game is
over.
Option: For those who think that the President should be armed,
he/she can be given a small pistol weapon to use (since most would think
the President should be able to fend for him/herself). An XP 20 or XP
40 would be ideal as a small, concealed side-arm.
ASSASSINS
Submitted by Aquamancer
Number of People: Any (at least 3)
Duration: Any length of time available.
Area Required: Any location which can afford to get wet. However, can
be made more interesting if done in an area with a lot of hiding places.
Weapons Used: Pistol-sized blasters
Overview
(adapted from email)
Players
should start at random locations around the battle area. When the battle
starts, players stalk each other around the battlefield looking for opponents.
When an enemy is found, there are two options of killing the enemy: Backstab
or Execution. To Backstab,
one must hit the enemy in the back. If one is hit anywhere else on the
body, it can be disregarded unless one is hit in the back or legs. If
a person is hit in the back, they die on the spot and the person who hit
them is awarded one point. To perform an Execution,
one must shoot an enemy in the legs. If a player is hit in the legs, they
must immediatly fall to their knees and start counting to 10 at a normal
pace. A person on their knees is a sitting duck.
If a sitting duck is shot in the back
of the head (this is why you use pistol blasters. I once played against
a Monster...), they are dead and the person who hit them in the back of
the head is awarded 2 points. If the kneeling person manages to count
to 10, they can get up and run. Also, if player 1 shoots player 2 in the
leg, player 2 must fall down and start counting. However, if player 3
can come over and shoot player 2 in the head before player 1 can, player
3 will get the points not player 1.
The game ends
when every person except one is eliminated. The person who remains is
awarded an extra two points for surviving. At the end of the battle, everyone
calculated their total points and whoever has the most points wins.
SOAKER
GOLF
Number of People: Any (at least 2)
Duration: Any length of time available.
Area Required: Any location which can afford to get wet. However, can
be made more interesting if done in an area with a lot of trees, shrubs,
water hazards, etc.
Other Things Required: Styrofoam (or light plastic) cups and some larger
buckets.
The concept is simple:
launch the styrofoam cup and have it land in the bucket using as few squirts
as possible. Basically, the players would have a starting position from
which they play the styrofoam cup over the nozzle of their blaster, pump,
aim, and launch the cup towards the bucket (the goal). Different-sized
soakers can be used to give more or less range/control depending on one's
arsenal (sorta like having a set of clubs). Where the styrofoam cup lands
is there the player can then shoot from again (the player must have at
least one foot on the spot where their cup landed). The size of the course
can vary depending on how big an area and how many buckets one has to
use. The winner is the one who needs to use the least number of shots
from the various starting positions to get his/her styrofoam cup into
the buckets. Players alternate on who is shooting for the goal... thus,
two or more styrofoam cups may end up on the playing field at the same
time.
